Custom Software Engineering & Application Modernization
The software your business runs on shouldn't be the thing holding it back.
We modernize, extend and connect business-critical applications - and build the new ones that have to work from day one. Fifteen years of it, mostly on systems somebody else wrote.

We assess the system as it actually runs, then modernize it in phases - the old and new run side by side until the new one holds up.

Four things, and the systems we do them to.
Every engagement starts the same way: a scoped assessment of the system as it actually is - not as the documentation claims.

Proof
Systems we've shipped, and what changed.
Most of what we do isn't greenfield - it's picking up a system someone else built, figuring out why it's built the way it is, and improving it without breaking what already works.

Who we work best with
We work with businesses across every industry, not one vertical or one technology. What our best-fit clients have in common is usually one of these four situations.
Running a business-critical .NET or SQL Server application
The system works, but it's become difficult to maintain, extend, or scale, and a full rewrite feels too risky.
Needing a new business application built
A SaaS product, internal tool, or ERP/CRM platform that doesn't exist yet and needs to be built from the ground up.
Needing systems connected
Data and workflows are stuck in silos across legacy software, APIs, or third-party platforms that need to talk to each other.
Wanting to add AI to existing software
Practical AI, document intelligence, or workflow automation layered onto systems you already run - not a replacement for them.
Industries
Sectors where we've already solved this.
Healthcare & Life Sciences
Clinical trial software and healthcare SaaS platforms, with architecture practices informed by HIPAA, FDA and GDPR requirements.
Financial Services & Lending
Secure, scalable lending platforms with automated underwriting and compliance-aware architecture.
Manufacturing & Logistics
Logistics and supply chain software that replaces spreadsheet-and-phone-call coordination with a system that shows where a shipment actually is.
Real Estate & PropTech
Property management and PropTech platforms that replace the spreadsheet-plus-three-tools workflow most real estate teams still run on.
SaaS & ISVs
Embedded engineering for software product companies - multi-tenant architecture, feature delivery, and platform ownership measured in years, not one release cycle.
Retail & Hospitality
POS modernization, multi-location retail systems, and booking or rental platforms with secure payment handling.
Process
How a project actually moves from scope to production.
Discovery & Scoping
We map the system's functional logic, technical constraints, and integration points under NDA before we commit to an approach or a number.
Architecture & UI/UX
We plan the data model and interface around how the application is actually used, with an eye on what breaks first as load or scope grows.
Agile Development
Short, reviewable sprints in .NET Core, Next.js, and Node.js, with AI-assisted tooling used where it genuinely speeds things up, not by default.
Quality Assurance
Automated coverage (Cypress, NUnit) plus manual review before anything reaches staging.
CI/CD Deployment
Releases go out through an automated pipeline to AWS or Azure, so shipping doesn't depend on someone remembering a manual checklist.
Long-Term Evolution
After launch, we keep tuning performance and picking up the follow-on work that discovery couldn't have caught - most systems need it.
Trust
We sign the NDA before we see anything.
Every engagement starts with an NDA, before we get access to a repository, credentials, or any business data. Access is scoped to what the work actually requires, and nothing about your system or your data leaves the engagement without your sign-off.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a project cost?
It depends on what we find during discovery - modernizing a decade-old ASP.NET application is a different estimate than building a new product from scratch. We don't put a number on it until someone has actually looked at the system or the spec.
What's your minimum engagement?
We're set up for real engineering work, not one-off small tasks - most projects run for months, not days. If your scope is genuinely small, we'll tell you honestly rather than stretching it out.
Do you only work with .NET?
No. .NET and SQL Server modernization is where we have the deepest track record, but we build and modernize with React, Node.js, AWS, Azure, Flutter and other stacks depending on what the system actually needs.
Who owns the code and IP when the project is done?
You do. Full ownership of the code and any IP built during the engagement transfers to you - nothing gets held back or reused elsewhere.
What happens if the timeline slips?
We tell you as soon as we know, not at the deadline. Most slippage on this kind of work comes from finding something in the existing system that wasn't visible going in - when that happens we explain what changed and work out scope or timeline together, rather than quietly cutting corners to hit the original date.
What does "NDA-ready" actually cover?
Everything - the codebase, architecture discussions, credentials, and any business logic we're exposed to along the way. We sign before we look at anything, not after.
How do we work with a team based in Punjab, India across time zones?
We keep a block of overlapping hours for calls and pairing, and everything else - code reviews, status updates, decisions - happens async in writing so progress doesn't depend on catching someone awake.
What if we don't have documentation for the system?
That's the normal case, not the exception, for the systems we get called about. We spend real time mapping what the application actually does before we touch anything - reading the code, tracing data flows, and confirming behavior with whoever's still around - rather than working from documentation that doesn't exist.
How do you migrate a legacy system while limiting disruption?
In phases, not one cutover. The old and new systems typically run side by side for a stretch, we validate the new one against real traffic and data, and only redirect once it's actually holding up - rather than betting everything on a single switch with no way back.
What happens after I submit the assessment form?
Someone reviews what you sent and comes back with next steps - usually with a few follow-up questions first, since a real assessment needs more than a one-paragraph form.
Start with the system, not a sales call.
Tell us what's running and what's wrong with it. We'll come back with an honest read on whether we're the right people for it.
